Jira Automation limit

Sameeksha Santhosh Naik October 7, 2025

I'm using the global Automation rule, which is triggered when a new project is created and creates multiple epics and stories under them.

Our automation usage limit exceeded last month (September). After usage limit renewal this month (October), with current usage consumed 14% only. We are unable to execute the rule

FYI: Other rules are being executed.

Hi @Sameeksha Santhosh Naik ,

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I can share my experience, which was similar to what you're seeing. Could you try disabling and re-enabling the rule and check if it executes then? Also, have you tried manually recreating the rule to see if that will help?

From what I've seen before, something can 'mess up' in the backend which then results in some rules automatically aborting. (when it comes to usage limitations)

Again, I'd first suggest trying what I said above. If it doesn't help, we can reach out to Community support team for someone to take a look.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @Sameeksha Santhosh Naik

Several things could cause that symptom, and the community will need more context to provide suggestions.  Please post images of:

  • an image of the global audit log showing all the executions (e.g., since 1 October 2025)
  • the complete global automation usage information, particularly if you have multiple products
  • your complete rule in one single image for continuity
  • an image of the rule audit log details showing the most recent successful execution
  • an image of the rule audit log details showing the most recent failed execution

Until we see those, what do you mean by this statement: We are unable to execute the rule

Kind regards,
Bill
