Jira-Bitbucket automation | "Jira status change opens a branch" template

Hello there!

as a PO I'm trying to help our devs to get an automation working.

Here's the problem we encountered.

  1. enter project settings and automation section
  2. check the templates tab, under the developer tools section, "when a ticket is moved to in progress state, create a branch on bitbucket"
  3. start providing details for the automation to correctly work (i.e. connect to bitbucket, provide the branch, etc.)
  4. save/validate the rule
  5. the error appears

Unfortunately the error is not translated, not sure why, but let me try to provide a proper translation: "This rule makes use of a connection which might have been deleted. Reload and try again".

Here are some questions we are asking ourselves already:

  1. What kind of connection are we talking about? Considering Bitbucket repositories and branches can be selected while building the rule, I assume it's something very specific
  2. We checked on Bitbucket and it appears that there is reading permission only for Jira, could that be relevant?
  3. Could the repository reading/writing privacy be relevant to fix this?
  4. Should we involve a jira admin to get this fixed

Looking forward to hearing yours and have this working.

Best!

Giulio

Hi @Giulio Pengo

This appears to be an intermittent defect, as described in the report below, and which is closed as "won't fix".

The workaround is to have your Jira Site Admin create the rule from the global rule area in Jira.
