Jira Cloud and Github Cloud intergration

mike.seisler May 27, 2025

We want to use the standard GitHub for Jira by Atlassian.  Marketplace Link:  https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219592/github-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=support

We have 1 Jira Enterprise cloud instance and we need to connect it to multiple GitHub cloud instance.  Will this plugin support creating connections to 2+ different GitHub instances?  These are completely different GitHub cloud instances with different URLs and is not just separate repositories.  Will this plugin allow the multiple connects?

Hi @mike.seisler

Believe it is possible. It's been a while. Since the app is free, it would good to install on your jira sandbox to test to make sure the app meets all your business requirements as well.

Hi @Benjamin  I'm the community manager at Exalate

The GitHub for Jira app by Atlassian is great for basic integration needs. But if you're looking for more flexibility—especially to connect multiple GitHub Cloud instances to the same Jira Cloud site—you might want to explore a solution like Exalate.

It’s an integration tool that supports complex, cross-instance setups and allows you to synchronize issues, pull requests, comments, custom fields, and more across multiple instances.

Let me know if you'd like to explore that option, and you can reach out to us if you have any questions at all at support@exalate.com. Or, if you'd prefer, you can directly book a one-on-one video call where we can show you how Exalate would work for your use case: https://exalate.com/book-demo/
