Jira Components populated from csv/excel

Hello, 

I am working on a complex project, and we would like to use COMPONENTS as work products, to group our issues on the structure, based on that. 

We spent lot of time by creating all this Work Products in an excel -with description, owner- and I am looking for a solution to be able to create the COMPONENTS of my project, from this CSV or excel file. 

please let me know if you have a good solution for this,

Hi Linda, welcome to the community. You can use the CSV importer to import issues. If one of the columns is components and you have listed all of the various components in at least one row then the importer will create those components upon import. So you will have to create some dummy issue that you subsequently delete one the import is complete.
