Jira Core - Marketing Approvals

We are a marketing team looking into using Jira Core. What we would like to see is a workflow that requires approval send a request at the approval stage via email to the approver listed and give them the ability to approve or reject. 

Seeing that what I can do is limited, what I have done so far is added the "Approver' field to all screens and tickets. In the workflow I set a condition to only allow the approver to approve to transition to the next stage. 

Is there a way to notify the Approver listed that there is a pending approval needed, and can they get a approval link via email. And do can they be a customer or non jira core user?

I haven't done this myself, but you could checkout the app JEMH.

In their documentation for server, they show how you could manage workflow transitions with the click of a button by using Directive Sets.

The Directive Sets feature is also available for the Cloud, although the workflow example is not in the docs. But I think, it is worth to give it a try.

Let us know, how/if that works.
