We have Jira configured to LDAP (IBM Directory Server) and when I create issues the Assignee field isn populated with [fname lname] but right below it the Reporter field is shown the UID. . . Can I configure Jira to show [fname lname (uid)] in both fields?

Second part, if a user have a nickname attribute populated in LDAP, can I have Jira display this nickname in place of their firstname (but only if one exists).

Thanks in advance!

Repoter field is designed to show the uid instead of full name. Any change would need modification to JIRA code.

And it is not possible to use the nickname in JIRA because it won't be ported across from LDAP to JIRA and even if it does, any changes like showing the nickname for assignee would need a code change.
