Jira Query for status updates

Cody Mages June 10, 2020

Hello,

I've found that I rely on simple JQL queries quite often these days, but I've yet to find a solid approach for updating story's within various epics in different boards (we don't track Epic status at my company).

The concept that I'd like to know (if it exists) would be to be able to do an initial pull of tickets from various teams and boards (we typically sort such projects under a "Mother-Epic" but again, tracking the status of the Mother-epic or child-epics under it serve us no purpose) only the Story's/tasks nested underneath the larger umbrella. Once all the tickets are in plain sight, I would want to have a query to simply update the statuses of the tickets at a given time, so this would be updating only certain cells in the sheet.

Hello @Cody Mages ,

I am not sure I have a correct understanding of what you are trying to achieve. However, if you want to automatically update all the child issues for a specified father, or all the child issues for a project, or anything similar, this should be possible by using Project Automation:

Please review above documentation and, if it does not help, provide more details on what you are trying to do.

Cheers,
Dario
