Jira Re-Indexing is making JIRA unreachable

I start Jira re-indexing. 5 minutes into, the web-page becomes inaccessible. In my previous runs, the page used to continuously re-load till completion. Where should I start looking for reasons ?

Monitor the logs in the location /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/logs/atlassian-jira.log

You will get the percentage of indexing in Jira completed.

It depends on the data present in your instance. Better increase instance resources and restart Jira in case this is happening regularly!!

Let me know if you still face the issue after increasing the resources
