Hi @Ganesh Acharya , Welcome to the community.

The precise answer depends on a great deal of missing information here. How do you want to present information and what information do you want to present? If the management team has access to the Jira instance then I would recommend creating a dashboard using gadgets that can present the data in the manner that they would like to see it. Another option is to simply create a filter and set up a subscription for the management team.

@Ganesh Acharya @Jonathan Smith

Providing a customized view of Jira issues for managers in Excel or PDF formats is what Midori's exporter apps do.

Better Excel Exporter allows you to take the Jira issues from a query and create an Excel report that is ready to be sent to managers. The app comes with many default report templates that cover typical use cases. You can also take a template and customize it to your management's exact needs.

Better PDF Exporter is very similar but for the PDF format. You can put a single issue or a list of issues into a PDF document that is ready to be shared with managers or external partners. You can use the default templates or customize the documents to your company branding or your management's taste.

If you are not on Cloud, you can even automate the exporting and emailing of your Jira reports.

(Both exporter apps are supported and paid apps and I'm part of the team developing it.)

@Jonathan Smith , What would management want to see? How about a weekly filter subscription?

@Jack Brickey  All of the same field information but in a different view.

  • We tend to control all branding and layouts on our reports.
  • The subscription email wasn't bad, but again, we want to format the results before sending it up to leadership.
  • I'd prefer not to give the users a CSV and have them modify everything to our standards.

Do you know of any marketplace add-ons that allow this export control? Something with editable templates?

Hi @Jonathan Smith ,

Sorry but I don't really understand what you mean by "all of the same field information but in a different view.".

Without understanding your exact needs it is difficult for me to recommend something. With that said, consider using the free Excel/Sheets extension to extract your desired data directly into a spreadsheet using JQL. If you create a template for this then any desired charts would automatically update.

@Jack Brickey I am also in a similar boat... Let's say management wants formatted reports and they do not want to look at a dashboard (because they are old fashioned), what other options do we have besides exporting filters to CSV?

  1. Exporting to WORD/HTML looks bad.
  2. Are there recommended exporting/reporting add-ons?
  3. Can we, as owners of the data, get access to the JWM SQL side or can it be replicated back to our internal databases for reporting purposes?

@Ganesh Acharya I am not trying to hijack your question, just building onto it :)

To Jack's point, you could create a simplified management dashboard if they want to stay in the tool, or potentially export the content to CSV routinely and format it as needed (manual process).
