I'm currently leading on developing an integration between our companies (new) CRM, Salesforce and existing Jira installation.
We have projects setup in Jira, and explored using ConnectAll to link the two platforms but have been forced to use Mulesoft by our Architect for corporate support reasons.
However we've got a stumbling block due to information synchronisation between the 2 platforms. We want/need to synchronise set properties between the 2 systems but more importantly comments.
We're being asked not to sync comments due to API Rates but instead to use an Salesforce Canvas app
Has anyone else used a Salesforce Canvas for Jira?
Does anyone have experience doing bidirectional syncs between the 2 who can offer advise
Hi @Martyn
Welcome to the community. This is Majid @ Exalate.
It sounds like you already have an integration going between Salesforce and Jira, but the bottleneck here is your API limit. I can maybe suggest you to look at Exalate, but I dont think that would address the API concern because as long as you are syncing comments, yes, it would eat into your API limit for sure.
Please let me know if I did not understand the situation well here and I would be happy to discuss further.
Thanks
Majid
Hi @Martyn
While researching your options, you might want to consider using an integration app like Connector for Salesforce and Jira. It provides bi-directional auto synchronization between Salesforce & Jira. I'm the Product Marketing Manager for this Appfire app and would be happy to put you in touch with our support team to answer any questions you might have or arrange a demo.
Best of luck in your search!

We did look into this connector, and it is promising, but given how our system is setup across the business, it would be $500 per month which is quite a lot but we also have a lot of custom fields and workflows.
I'll have another look and see if we could use it.
I think the big concern was Salesforce API Limits ... which this app might still run into, although I don't think it's a genuine risk

Those are definitely important considerations to keep in mind. If any questions come up while you're exploring your options, I'm happy to help answer them.
