Jira Server - How do I upgrade jQuery version from 2x to 3x?

Currently, the jQuery version with Jira 8 is 2.x. How can I upgrade this to newer and the latest version of jQuery?

When will  JQuery 2.2.4 be updated to the most recent version?  We must get this upgraded due to critical vulnerabilities.

You do not.  Jquery is a structural part of the software and ripping it out and replacing it with a version that has not been coded for is guaranteed to totally break your system.

What problem  are you trying to solve here?

I'm getting errors like 

Exception: Uncaught TypeError: rbuggyMatches.test is not a function

Or this. Depending on if I'm debugging on dev, prod, or testing environment.

Whenever I click on Create button when I'm on any Scrum or Kanban board.

Oh, so what have you customised in your Jira to make this happen?

I've not been able to find anyone reporting this before, so it must be something you've customised in there.

That's a good question. I work with more developers so I need to check the commit log. Let me get back around to you if I find anything useful.
