Jira Service Desk (server) integration with ADFS

I have an active directory set up both in Azure and on-premise. We also have ADFS set up for single sign-on, and the ADFS servers are in Azure.

We are setting up Jira Service Desk and Confluence Server, so am I able to integrate these with ADFS? Should this ADFS be set up on-premise instead?

I do not have much experience in configuring active directories and could use as much help as possible! :)
