Hi,
I have a Slack channel for one of our projects and the default Jira Cloud bot behaviour is just to spam it with everything that happens. I wanted to filter this to just the current user and to specific status changes.
It seems this should be possible with JQL by just filtering to 'assignee = currentUser()' but this does not work. I've tried numerous variations on this and checked their validity against issue search queries in Jira itself. The only way it seems that I can achieve this is to have every user create their own channel and set their filter up so that 'assignee = {their_username}.
Is this correct or am I maybe missing something fundamental? Full disclaimer, I had no idea what JQL was this time yesterday.
Thanks!
Personal notifications in the official Jira loud bot is work in progress. See here for latest:

There are multiple vendor solutions (some free) in the marketplace that provide personal notifications like you need (including our own Troopr :)). Check them out here:

Troopr Jira Slack integration lets you configure notifications that are uniquely spam-free (filtered, grouped, batched AND paginated) and works with Jira Cloud, Server and DC.
