Can I create a kanban board if the project type is "business"?

Boards are created and visible to users who are licensed as JIRA Software Users. The board currently displays issues from any type of project: Business, Software, and Service Desk.

You may create a Kanban Board for a Business Project, but the users must be Software Users. Additionally, the Kanban Board will not display in the sidebar and must be navigated to directly. You may consider using the Sidebar Shortcuts to place a link to the dashboard somewhere easily memorable. 

If you have JIRA Cloud, there is an alternative for Business Projects called simply "Boards" but this is not currently avaliable for JIRA Server.
