Jira Sprint Field Showing “None +1” and Velocity Reports Missing Completed Stories

Farrah June 2, 2025

We’re on the free Jira Cloud plan and started noticing a major issue after June 1st. Our completed stories are no longer being counted in the Velocity report. The “Sprint” field now shows “None +1” for many issues, even though they were clearly part of a closed sprint (e.g., “SJP Sprint 8”, ID 546) and are in Done status with story points assigned.

  • Velocity reports show 0 completed.

  • JQL like cf[10020] = 546 returns issues correctly.

  • Sprint 546 is visible on the timeline view and shows as closed.

  • Sprint dropdown says “No matches found.”

We made no board filter or project config changes, and it was working perfectly until now.

Any ideas? Could this be an indexing issue on Atlassian’s side?jira-issue.jpg

Hi @Farrah

Did you check the history of the issues? Do they appear as being added in Sprint?

This might be related to this Jira ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-10460. I see also another similar topic: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-questions/Sprint-field-in-a-ticket-showing-None-1-or-None-2-etc/qaq-p/2211309

Apparently, Jira displays "None" if the issues is not in an active sprint (?!), but I really don't understand how this could impact the reports of closed sprints.

If you don't manage to figure it out, I suggest trying a plugin from Atlassian Marketplace as a replacement for the broken jira reports.

If you want to try a plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers all you need for tracking your Scrum projects: team velocity, sprint burndown/burnup, release burndown/burnup chart etc.

Hope this helps.

Danut.

Hi Danut,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the history shows the issue assigned to a Sprint.  Previously my velocity report showed completed stories, now it does not.

Hi @Farrah,

Jira reports consider issues in the last column (far right) of the board as completed.

Can you check in the board configuration if the "Done" status is mapped to the last column?

Danut.

Danut,

You cracked this.  Awesome.  Thank you.

Another admin fiddled with the board and added a new column beyond the Done column which befuddled my board.

New column has been sorted.  Velocity report is happy now.

Thanks for making my day.

Farrah
