Jira automation doesn't update the priority status based on Parent issue

Mykhailo Shukakidze July 19, 2023

I am trying to setup an automation rule that will setup the priority status of the sub-tasks when they are created based on the priority of their parent issue. For example, I have a user story with High priority and when someone creates a sub-task under it the priority should be updated to the High as well in sub-task.

I am using the following rule with smartvalue:

Hi @Mykhailo Shukakidze

I believe you need to use the id value rather than the name.

Have you instead tried the "Copy from parent" option from the ... menu at the right of the field?

Kind regards,
Bill
