Jira dashboard

Anastasia Krutitsenko January 4, 2023

Hello,

Please advise if it is possible somehow to create a dashboard(whatever gadget) to show data for the whole project and:

1. assignee 1

    1.1 request type x

    1.2 request type y

    1.3 request type z

2. assignee 2

    2.1 request type x

    2.2 request type y

    2.3 request type z

Or there should be several gadgets used?

Also how to set up filters for that, if needed.

Is it possible to make a dashboard with data described before, but average resolution time would be shown?

1. assignee 1

1.1 request type x - average closure time 30 days

1.2 request type y - average closure time 50 days

1.3 request type z - average closure time 60 days

2. assignee 2

2.1 request type x - average closure time 19 days

2.2 request type y - average closure time 23 days

2.3 request type z - average closure time 48 days

Hi @Anastasia Krutitsenko - When you say request type, am I correct that this is for JSM?  If so, native dashboard functionality is lacking on the ability to slice and dice by request type.  Otherwise, a two-dimensional filter would handle your first use case.

Ultimately, you'll probably want to explore a marketplace app for what you're trying to achieve.  The best I can recommend using native functionality is creating a series of reports on your project where you define the business logic statically with series. For example:

Report 1:  This assumes that you're using Time To Resolution SLA and will give you the average time each Assignee spends on each request type

  • Series 1 = Assignee 1 / Request Type X
    • Time To Resolution (Avg)
    • assignee = Assignee 1 AND Request Type = X
  • Series 2 = Assignee 1 / Request Type Y
    • Time To Resolution (Avg)
    • assignee = Assignee 1 AND Request Type = Y
  • Series 3 = Assignee 1 / Request Type Z
    • Time To Resolution (Avg)
    • assignee = Assignee 1 AND Request Type = Z
  • Series 4 = Assignee 2 / Request Type X
    • Time To Resolution (Avg)
    • assignee = Assignee 1 AND Request Type = X
  • Series 5 = Assignee 2 / Request Type Y
    • Time To Resolution (Avg)
    • assignee = Assignee 2 AND Request Type = Y
  • Series 6 = Assignee 2 / Request Type Z
    • Time To Resolution (Avg)
    • assignee = Assignee 2 AND Request Type = Z

Now, if you're dealing with a large number of users/request types, you probably would need to split these reports in a different way (e.g. 1 report per assignee, 1 report per request type, etc.)

Again, I'd recommend looking into marketplace apps though because (1) you won't get the desired reporting captured on a dashboard and (2) this approach would require a bit of administrative overhead.

Hi @Anastasia Krutitsenko

As mentioned below, you can achieve this with a mktplace app. If you would be interested in the same, you can try out our plugin,

Time in Status Reports

The add-on provides the time in each status for the entire lifecycle of the issue.

There are multiple reports in the app including the "Time with Assignee" as per your requirement. You can group multiple statuses to define your own closure time and check how much the issue spent with the assignees.

Do try it out.
