Jira fields that can have a link to files or folders on a file share

I'm trying to configure a new custom field in Jira so that it can have a link out to a folder or a direct file sitting on a different server.

Cant seem to figure this out so can someone explian how I can acheive this? I guess it shoud be quite straight forward.

I'd like to just be able to enter the full UNC path but it just seens to show up as text and not a link.
