How do we use Jira for Mainframe issues. The mainframe throws exceptions and issues . we want to catch all of them and automatically create an issue in Jira to track them. what is the integration process of Jira & Mainframe.
Thank you
And to close the loop have a look at the coming 5.2 version and the new feature: Webhooks. It will allow JIRA to invoke the mainframe everytime that an issue changes. Wow.
Yup, CLI or email are options, if your beast supports email!

Depedning on what you want to do and your ability to customize, its possible to gain some degree of smarts in how issues get created, ie duplicates could 'stack' on the same issue rather than creating lots of new issues. For that though, you would need something like JEMH (docs).

If you can figure out how to do the capture of information, then you should be simple to run JIRA Command Line Interface commands to create the issue. It is a java command line client and should run on any JRE. You would have to test to verify :).

Make sure your mainframe has internet access or email access.
