Your error clearly states that JIRA is unable to communicate with the database.

During the first few seconds of startup , if you follow the log message on atlassian-jira.log , you should be able to see why you are unable to connect to the database.

There are also some database utilities in the bin folder that you can use to test connection with the database and if required configure your connection instead of manually making entries in the dbconfig.xml file.

Hi @k Harikrishna

It seems Jira is not able to connect to your database, I would suggest you check the logs "atlassian-jira.log" to be able to determine the cause.

Logs are located in your server under the "JIRA_HOME" directory.

There are multiple possible causes:

  • USername/password changed
  • Database server is down
  • Firewall rules blocking the connection
  • Etc.......

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Hi @k Harikrishna ,

this happens when there is some problem with db connection. Please take alook to the following troubleshooting article https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/resolve-database-connection-errors-during-jira-server-startup-872262124.html

Hope this helps,

Fabio
