Hello,
Jira is very slow when I am in Google Meet and sharing my screen. Loading pages, creating stories take much longer than when not in a meet. I don't use backgrounds during the meeting, but my video is on. I really would like to see each others faces, while working from home fully.
I noticed that somebody already put up this question fo Microsoft Teams, so there seems to be a connection between a virtual meeting and the use of Jira.
As remote working is served by Jira well, it would be great if there is a solution.
I do know that it wasn't that bad in 2020.
Regards
Floor
Hi @Floor Kooman ,
have you assessed if other applications are also running slow? I suspect that it’s less about Jira and more about Google meet and the resources it’s taking on your PC. Just some ideas here, exit every other application except for Jira and Google meet. Check the processes running and assess the amount of CPU usage. You can do this before after and during google meet sessions to see if the amount of CPU and memory usage changes in Jira. I suspect it is not but worth checking.
One of my colleagues has had issues when in a video team session. However I fully believe it’s something to do with his set up. He uses various firewalls that might contribute to this. I do know that no one else in the organization has mentioned this and I certainly don’t see it on my end.
finally you may wish to open a support ticket with Atlassian support. They have the ability to login and assess if anything is amiss with the application.
Google meet absorbs a lot of CPU usage indeed. Yesterday I closed all other running apps and it went much better.
Thanks so much!
Regards,
Floor
