Jira migration assistant entity.id error

Randall Witlicki November 2, 2021

Hello,

I have looked at the previous posts about this but I cannot find a solution yet.

The error is:

2021-11-02 13:54:57.938 ERROR XXX project-export We couldn't export Field Layout Scheme default. Reason: java.lang.NullPointerException: entity.id must not be null.

There are 9 projects and they all throw this error.

JIra version is 7.13.5 and all of these projects are using the System Default Field Configuration.

Is there something I need to change ?

 Thanks.

Hi Randall,

Check out the Database Integrity Checker and any errors in the Log Scanner. The integrity checker allows one to fix some items and may resolve this for you. Please chase down some of the errors and report back if unresolved or the behavior changes. Specific errors from logs are always helpful. Cheers!

The Database Integrity Checker passed all the tests.

All 9 projects generated the above error in the error log output when I ran the Migrate Data phase of the Jira Migration assistant (version 1.6.3). There were no other errors.

This is the same error as reported in this thread from April 2020:

Hi Randall,

There may be a flaw in the database configuration or how the JCMA is interpreting the database. I recommend a MOVE ticket with Atlassian for better guidance. Until then, can you see if there are any ERRORS or WARNS in the log just prior to the appearance of the error you provided? Cheers?
