Jira python api to get project fields

I am writing a mechanism to retreive data in jira and see value in getting the project description data.

Is there any way using the jira python api to get to this data?

You can GET some project information by calling the below REST API endpoint:

• Jira Server: /rest/api/2/project/{projectIdOrKey}
• Jira Cloud: /rest/api/3/project/{projectIdOrKey}

However, in case this does not help, can you kindly let us know what you are trying to achieve exactly?
