Jira query on Issues with open merge (or pull) requests

We have Git Integration for Jira setup to integrate Jira Data Center and Gitlab. Both are self-managed, self-hosted.

So I have been asked for a Jira query to show all the Issues with an open merge (or pull) request.

Any ideas?

I don't have that exact config but if they use the built-in DVCS stuff does the development JQL work?

I don't have either Server or Gitlab to play with, but I see this doc which seems to be written by a human?
