Kaban with swimlanes that are by Epics containing a label and show all tickets under those epics

I have a Kaban board.

And I have a number of epics with a label (let's say the label is "thing").

I want my swimlanes to be by Epic, and to show all tickets that fall under those Epics.

The problems is that by using the label to query all of the Epics, it's not displaying the tickets associated with those Epics.

Why not use swim lanes by Epic alone. How does label fit in here?
