I'm trying to set due date as a field that displays on the card in a kanban board. I go to board settings, card layout and choose due date as the field I want to display. When I go back to the board it's not showing and when I go back to the settings the change is gone and it's back to the original setting (I am the system and project admin). The owner of the project is a former employee who is inactive. Is that the issue?
After selecting the field are you clicking the Add button (1) and seeing the field then appear below with a Delete button (2) before you return to the board?
Is Due Date a field that displays when you are viewing issue details?

That is odd...definitely weird permissions things can happen in Jira when someone in key roles is marked inactive.
What do you observe if you change the Project Lead to an active user, such as yourself?
