Hello,

Regardless of browser, when using the kanban board and we use a workflow with more than 2 or 3 options you can never select the bottom one. Jira is stopping me moving the mouse any further down than what you see in the screen. The only solution is to scrap using kanban, edit the ticket and change the workflow using the menus.

Any idea how to fix this?

[edit]If I put my mouse at the very top or bottom pixel it sometimes works, i.e. there's a bug in jira drag and drop that needs to be fixed really as pixel perfect box selection isn't the way forward and of course if you don't know that your box is the first or last one you have to start again ;)

Hi @chucklepie

You may be encountering the defect noted below.  It seems both related to the use of swim lanes (which seem to be in use on your image) and where one clicks (top or bottom area) on the issue before trying the drag and drop operation.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-8801

Kind regards,
Bill

Hello @chucklepie

To better assist you with a proper solution, would you please share the workflow diagram mapped to the issue type "bug" and tell us which workflow status/es is mapped to the column "Test Excecution"

Thanks!

Don't think I have access to the workflow, but it's kind of irrelevant? just have 4 or 5 items made visible in a kanban and you literally cannot make either the top or the bottom item selected depending on exactly where you start dragging from.

Hi @chucklepie

Let me explain to you how kanban work and the relation with the workflow

  1. Kanban Columns are logical (Not actual statuses), it is just a way of organizing the work.

  2. Each Kanban column can be mapped to one of more statuses within the workflow.

  3. For Example, The column Done in your scenario is mapped to 5 statuses.

  4. In order to move one task from one column to another you must have a route in the workflow between the task current status and the target status.

  5. You can access the workflow from the ticket as shown below

    vbThHfsPsl.png
  6. Now you need to check the board column mapping to statuses (illustrated below)

    firefox_51kOpwCXoC.gif

7- Make sure that the mapped statuses have route between them in the workflow you got in step 5. if not, change the mapping according to the workflow routes so you would be able to move tickets between columns

Let me know if further elaboration is needed.
