LINK SUBTASK WITH EPIC IN ANOTHER PROJECT

박보은

Warm greetings from Korea~

I want to link(related to) a subtask(BM-107, From Project BM) with an epic(KBIO-2, From Project KBIO).

if a subtask in BM: its parent issue has key word "라푸티틴"

and epic name in KBIO: has the same key word "라푸티틴"

HOW can I link the two issues between two projects?

According to the audit load, I believe that It successfully looked up issues, but doesn't link two issues.

And I want to know about is there any way for me to automatically connect two issues(epic, subtasks) not stating the word(라푸티틴) directly?

ex) if parents issue summary of a sub-task in BM Project contains epic name in KBIO Project, then link sub-task(BM) and epic(KBIO).

Hi @박보은  ,

This query doesn't comes with out-of the box jql search and i recommend to use JQL Search Extensions. It's a professional paid indexing service provided by a company I've partnered with.

You can use the following query to get the list of all epic children by a specific version and more reference

  • Use "related issues" to get the parent using
    • ("issue in parentsOfSubtasksInQuery("Pro='BM'")"OR Type = Epic) AND Summary = 'YourText'

Thanks

Hi Bo-Un,

I tried coming up with various solutions with Jira Automation, but I couldn't find a way to do it with Lookup Issues or even a JQL Condition to get the epic and link the subtask to the epic.

The Linked issues field only shows you the links to the ticket and does not let you link an actual ticket.

Also, it looks like the Link Issue Action does not give you the option to link to the {{lookupissues}} smart values.   This could be a new feature request.

Hi @박보은

Maybe try moving the last two items under the branch - putting them where the word Component is in your image.
