I am trying to create swimlanes based on related issues that they are linked to, much how the epic swimlanes react.
What is the best JQL to achieve this?
Normally, I'd just use the epic issue type but I wanted to create a custom issue type so users wont be confused when creating issues.
Hi Ryan,
For us to better understand your issue, I'm going to need additional information.
With this information, I should be able to better help you.
I have a project with 2 Kanban boards
Each board tracks one issue type and both issue types are custom.
The issues that are on of the boards relates to an issue on the other board.
I would like to create swim lanes based on what the related issue is from the other board.
Hopefully this gives you an understand of what I'm to do.

I have a very similar question! I would merely like to sort my board into swimlanes based on a custom issue type to which each issue on the board is linked.

What if you aren't using SUB-TASKS, because the Burn-Up reports don't report completed Sub-tasks as "completion" (which if it was working the way it SHOULD, it WOULD)?
How would one do that.

How do we monitor progress when Jira operates so illogically?
If you're going to have Swimlanes to monitor Story progress by viewing Sub-tasks in the active Sprint, then support reporting the Burn-down or Burn-up via counting sub-tasks.....Sheesh!
