Linked issue field which is marked as mandatory doesn't act as a mandatory field

Hi all,

I created a field configuration schema for Bugs and marked "Linked Issues" field as a mandatory field. In the issue creation screen, this field is displayed as a mandatory field (wit little ref star sign), but I can create issues even without filling this field. Any one knows why this is happening?

Try to make this field required using a workflow validator. This should do the trick:
