hi all,
we have reciprocal links between JIRA PROD and Confluence PROD. we are not seeing the Confluence icon in JIRA navigation. we can still perform all functions. We see JIRA link in Confluence. It should have appeared automatically since they are linked.
It was suggested that we re create these links. My concern is we have different spaces created with linked JIRA projects and breaking them. Looks like when we recreate with same URL, it shouldn't break any existing project links.
we want to test linking our JIRA DR --> Confluence PROD.
1) Can I link 2 different instance to 1 Confluence ?JIRA QA and JIRA PROD has 2 different URL's and sitting on different servers.
2) will this break existing JIRA project and Confluence space links or any other issue links ?
thanks !
we tried linking 2 JIRA instances to our Confluence and none of the links broke.
If I’m reading your post correctly, you’ve setup an application link between JIRA and confluence (allows you to insert JIRA issue macro into confluence etc), but you’re not seeing the JIRA icon in confluences navigation “hamburger” menu. If so, the later is the application navigator and while it often contains the same items as are setup with application links, are managed separately.
if you review https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/creating-links-in-the-application-navigator-861253158.htmL this should give you the info you need to check/create the missing application navigator links.
Mapping your DR JIRA to your prod confluence with app links is not a good idea as they will both have the same project keys, which will mess things up.
