Hi Community, can help me out creating Jira automation for the following:
1. Once new issue is created, it must check the summary data with the existing issues in the project
2. If the summary data for the newly created and existing issues matches
3. Then link these two issues.
Note: If there is no direct method to compare to summary field values. what other methods i could use? and give me step by step that i could follow.
Hi @NAREIN CM ,
have you checked the community for similar posts? Here is one that I found I looking to the right under Related Community content - Linking-issues-where-summary-matches-the-trigger-issue . It may not be exactly your used case, but it's pretty close in my get you to your end goal. There are other posts as well so you might do a search using the search bar above.
HI @Jack Brickey thanks for replying. I tried it but still i am not able to end where i want. As i am new to Jira. I request to get some more detailed step by step approach that i could follow. i tried one please see below but it is returning error.

Hi @NAREIN CM , I will try to take a look at it later today. In the meantime, can you tell me what the automation log indicates when the rule is triggered? I am assuming that it simply says no actions performed, but don't like to assume.
