Links with aliases break tables

Since the table fields are defined by the pipeline symbol and this exact symbol is used for splitting link alias and the actual URL it always causes table to break and spill the remainder of the text behind the the last found pipeline below table while also breaking the visualisation of the table itself.

How do I prevent this without getting rid of the aliases?
