Lock Field After A Status

Is it possible to lock a field (ie: Description) from a specific group after a specific status?

Example:
Once the issue status is set to "In Progress" the "Customer" group cannot edit the Description field.

You can via live field of SIL or behaviours of Scriprunner or JS script or via global property the workflow transitions
