Hi @Danika DeGiulio ,
Jira currently doesn't provide the ability to log work on behalf of other users. If you're open to using a third-party application, you can try one of the time tracking tools, such as WorklogPRO. It provides a permission-based feature that allows users to log work on behalf of others.
Disclaimer: I work for the vendor who developed this application.

Hi @Danika DeGiulio! 👋
By default, Jira does not allow logging time on behalf of other users — it's a common limitation for teams where project managers or leads need to track time for others.
To enable this functionality, you’ll need a dedicated time tracking app. One option is JetTime — a privacy-first time tracking app built on Atlassian Forge.
JetTime lets you:
Log time for other users directly within the issue view
Control permissions, so only selected users (e.g. team leads) can do this
Keep all time data securely inside Jira, with no third-party servers involved
It's a great option if you're managing time on behalf of your team and need full control while staying compliant with data privacy standards.
Happy to help if you have questions!

Hi @Danika DeGiulio ,
it is not possible to log time for other users in Jira, unless you have an addon like TImesheets by Tempo. I am not familiar with other addons but I'm sure others also have this feature.
The basic "log work" action in Jira is very limited, and the action to log time for other people is definitely missing.
Let me know if this helps,
--Alexis

Welcome to the community!
You might consider using time-tracking apps that in most cases have such a feature.
I can recommend our Clockwork Automated Time Tracking & Timesheets Pro app, which allows you with correct permissions to log work for other colleagues.
Here is how it looks like:
There are other interesting time tracking options that our app have. If you are interested, we can also join on a demo call, you can schedule one here.
Best Regards,
Gracjan
