Looking for a User form solution

I've been looking at multiple options for a user form Solution but it would have to meet the following Criteria

- Allows any user to submit a request and allows us to confirm who the user is without using up jira and confluence licences, preferably leveraging the customer portal

- Allows rule/automation so depending on what is selected for a drop down other fields get auto populated with values

- Allow users to go in and possibly edit certain fields if they need to correct information.

unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a solution that matches all these options. The closest is confiforms but then i would need to allow anonymous access and we cannot confirm who is actually submitting the request.

Hi @Ryan L,

For your first requirement, you are perfectly fine with Jira Service Desk.

The basics of your second requirement can be covered with Jira custom fields (select list - cascading). With Extension for Jira Service Desk you can build the cascading dynamic forms you are referring to. If you want more flexibility in managing the data and flexible UI in the portal, you could consider Insight as well.

For your last requirement, the easiest solution is to have your users communicate through comments. But if you're not happy with that, you could add update issue transitions to your workflow: add a transition from a status to itself, call it 'update issue' and associate a screen with relevant fields to it. With Actions for Jira Service Desk you can then expose those fields in a screen on the customer portal.

I have been looking at those, but it appears that i can only show and hide fields not select default values from other fields. What i want to do is for people to be able to select a department, and certain fields get auto populated for the defaults of that department.
