Looking for projectType advanced search field

Thomas Lier April 21, 2020

Hello everyone,

I am trying to list all tickets that are in a Business project.

Previously I had to install JQL Booster Pack to benefit from their projectsOfType() function.

* project in projectsOfType("Business")

I have seen in the JiraCloud documentation that we can use projectType field in JQL search.

I am currently using Jira Server 8.7.1 and this does not work (can not find field projectType).

As the JQL Booster Pack app is not free anymore and the previous version is not compatible with Jira Server 8.7.1, I am looking for a solution.

Thanks a lot,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I'm Jack Nolddor the person behind JQL Booster Pack.

Sadly, projectType field is not available on Jira Server that's the reason we created projectsOfType() function.

Regarding our complement, as you already pointed out, was changed to a PAID model for Jira 8.x, you can read the related advisory of this change at JQL Booster Pack 2.0 Release Notes page.

Kind Regards

Hi Jack,

Thanks for your reply.

We are currently using JQL Booster Pack only for that specific feature (projectOfTypes() ).
I'm sorry but we are not ready to migrate on a paid version of that plugin.

Even if the plugin is marked as "Not compatible" the function projectOfTypes seems to be still running fine.

Do you know if there may be an issue to stay like that ?

Regards,

Thomas

Hi Thomas, some JQL functions will stop working since internal Jira API has changed. Regarding Atlassian Java classes used by projectOfTypes(), they remained untouched from Jira 7.x so as you already pointed out the function should work but the behaviour using other functions are unexpected.

In addition, if you encountered a problem while using this version we kindly ask you to use a compatibe version within your system, before the support team can help you in any way.

Also note that we have introduced a bunch of new JQL functions on latest versions regarding issueLinks so I belive it worths to upgrade the complement and benefit from those handy features.

Current JQL functions provided by the complement can be found HERE

Regards

Have a nice day.
