Loss of Field data moving issue between projects

In our Jira we got 2 business projects, one for Leads and one for Prospects. Both Leads and Prospects issues have fields for company, email, Phone and job title. However, when moving the issues from Leads to Prospects none of the data in these fields in moved over, even though both issue types have these fields. I dont understand why the data is not getting passed over.

Are the projects Company Managed or Team Managed?

Get that information from the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.

Team Managed projects can have project specific custom fields. Even if the projects have fields with the same name, in a Team Managed project the fields may be considered project specific and data may not automatically transfer when an issue is moved.
