MDM support for JIRA Mobile app : how can I prepopulate the URL ?

We have installed JIRA 8.5 and configured the app in MDM.

According the documentation its possible to pre-populate the URL in MDM. We have followed the instructions but get the documented error 

'Can't show the site list'

Now this page says that "Mobile Device Management support for the Jira Server iOS app is currently in beta. This feature is not yet fully supported."

Is there any chance to get this fixed or could there be other reasons why the url is not populated ?
