MS Teams Mentions from Jira Chat

Hi Community,

We noticed that when creating a chat from a Jira ticket, if we mention a user and then start the chat, the user is not actually tagged in MS Teams — instead, their name just appears as plain text. (i.e. They are not mentioned in teams chat)

Has anyone else experienced this issue? The article below seems related, but I’d like to confirm:
