Make a Sub Task available in the drop down

Hello,

  In JIRA 5.2, how do I "activate" a new sub task that I created so that it shows up in the dropdown list after I've created the main task?

Do you mean a sub-task type?  They just need to be added to the issue type scheme for the project.

If you don't mean you've created a new type, then I'm a bit stuck on what you mean, and would ask for more information.
