Right now when I google something that starts with the word "Jira" it always wants to redirect to searching inside of my jira.
I don't want that.
I want my google searches that start with "Jira" to actually go to google and not Jira.
How do I remove the Jira hijacking of my google searching?
You need to go into your chrome settings and look under the "Search Engines" section of those settings.
Under "Manage Search Engines" you need to scroll down until you get to the one that references JIRA and delete it.
This should resolve your issue.
You'll have to look up how to do this in Firefox or other browsers, unfortunately, I'm not sure how those ones are done.

This will happen if you add Jira as a search engine in your browser. Jira does make this easy to do, but you do have to explicitly add it yourself, it can't be added without permission.
It is easy to remove - whatever the browser, look for settings and search engines.

Must admit, since joining Adaptavist, I've not used it.
When I had one JaC stack to work with at a time, it was useful, but I'd run out of shortcuts if I added all the (client) ones I've stumbled into!

This doesn’t make sense to me and I have never witnessed such behavior. Google searches web pages not inside an app. Can you explain?
