Making a Field Optional in Ticket Workflow

I have a certain field that is not optional when you initially create a ticket, but is required when you transition a ticket from a certain status (status C, for example) to a forward-movement status (status D, for example).

It is a custom field, and I am having some trouble determining how to make it optional for the entire life of the ticket status, rather than solely at ticket creation.

Hi Eudora,

You can place a validator on the transition in the workflow that goes to the status where you want to already have been filled in.

Just create a Required field validator on that step.
