Making some fields available to some issue types

Hi,

I use a jira cloud project. I would like to use some fields which are needed only for certain issue types. 

For e.g: I want Commit Date to be mandatory for Epic issue type, but not for others.

Similarly, I want Epic name to be available for epic, but not for story or bug

How do I ensure that i can associate certain fields to certain issue types only.

I am currently using Default screens and default field configurations provided by jira

@Asha  , the mandatory field configuraitons can be defined specifically for issue types via the field configuration schemes.

Please create the field configuration specific to Epic and make the field only required for epic type through the field configuration
