Hi there,
We are using Jira both for strategic planification of our projects and operational.
We have a dedicated Jira project where we store each project as a Jira Issue with a subtask for each Team that we be impacted by the project.
Each subtask have high level estimate, to have a first view, very high level, on a our capacity planning for the coming year.
It helps us build our portfolio and start conversation where it seems we will have some risk regarding capacity.
Once validated, each Project Manager start to work on spliting the activities with the teams involved.
In order to enforce good practices and data quality, we would like that each activity link to a project for a specific team, when estimated, decrease the amount of estimates for that specific team and project that is stored in the subtask previously mentionned.
So that we keep project estimation aligned with the forecast.
It could be done manually, but if any of you have any recomendation, advice or experience with such a practice, thank you for sharing !
