Marking Move to Done marks status as Rejected (Not Done)

Vighnesh V Pai May 30, 2023

Problem at hand:

When I move a ticket from any column to Done column, by default the ticket status is marked as Rejected and not Done. (This is problem for both Sub-task and all ticket types)

Is there any configuration I can tweak so that when I drag ticket to Done column it marks as Done or click on 'Move to Done' when all subtasks are moved to Done?

Possible end Status for Tickets:

  • Accepted
  • Done (Duplicate of Accepted, legacy tickets are there)
  • Rejected
  • Won't Do (Duplicate of Rejected, legacy tickets are there)

Attaching the screenshots for Reference:

All are reflecting Done status.

When I click on Move to Done (all sub-tasks are moved to Done column)

Hi Vighnesh,

The problem is that you probably have multiple transitions to the various statuses all using the same name or similar (Move to Done). Check the workflow and the transition name for going to each status and rename them to be more descriptive - like Mark as Rejected, Mark as Accepted, Mark as Won't Do, etc.

Separately, you can create an automation rule that will close the parent when all of the sub-tasks are marked Done.

Hi @Vighnesh V Pai ,

@John Funk You are right. Just add one condition on the workflow so If all the subtask are Done then Parent should be moved to close status. Else when you move any single subtask to Done then it will also close the Parent.
