Hi,
We have several Projects, some that open to all staff and some that aren't.
The issue we are now facing is those Private projects e.g. legal team
Is unable to tag additional users in the comment section. I know we can enable this by either adding users or groups to the permission scheme Browse Projects, unfortunately this will then enable all staff to view the project and any tasks/tickets.
Is there a way we can just enable access to allow members of these private projects to @mention all staff?
just to make sure my understanding is right.
1.) You have projects that are rather locked down because they contain sensitive information
2.) You want to enable on a "per case basis" access to single issues for certain users by an (at)-mention
This is not possible to my best knowledge. What you still could do is to create a custom field like "Permitted User(s)". You would need to give "Browse Project" permission to this custom field.
This also works with "Issue Security" if you should prefer that route.
Doing so, any user added >additionally< to that field will gain access to an issue.
You still can remove an user from the field in an issue through the lifecycle of the issue and the specific user will not be able to see the issue anymore - so this is a quite flexible and secure solution.
You can find more information here:
Please let us know if your requirement should be understood differently.
Regards,
Daniel
Hello
Try to chech if all users have the browse project permission. if the users dont have the browse project permission, one can't tag them in comment. Look at the following link:

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I already mentioned this in my initial post, which we have set for public facing project with in the company.
As for private facing projects we want the ability to tag members to that particular ticket, just not view/search the entire project for current and past tickets.
