Hi,
We are testing the app and we would like to link our Outlook Shared Mailbox with Jira Cloud for Outlook (Official).
Do you know if it's possible?
We have a current email account wich is the primary and a Shared Mailbox (in Microsoft 365).
We've seen that the primary one works correctly with the Add-in but the Shared's one doesn't detect this Add-in.
We wait for your information.
Thanks!
Hi @Regulatory Arogreen ,
there are quite a number of posts in the community to date on the use of shared mailboxes. I have seen post with mixed results but ultimately everyone of them seems to result in issues. So my guidance is to avoid the use of shared mailboxes. I encourage you to use the search bar and enter shared mailboxes and preview some of the issues that you will run into.
The following should get you started on your research - Shared mailbox
@Regulatory Arogreen
We use a MS 365 shared mailbox with Jira Servicemanagent (Cloud) to import tickets.
Steps to make this work:
1. In MS Tenant go to: Exchange admin center (microsoft.com)
2. open the shared mailbox and look on General tab for User ID
3. Go to Active users - Microsoft 365 beheercentrum (office.com)
4.1 reset the password for the user found in step 2
(this should be a @company.onmicrosft.com account)
4.2 Optional change the @company.onmicrosft.com account to @company.com
5. Disable MFA for this user (or greate a group to disable MFA for these type accounts)
6. Now go to Jira servicemanagement -> Project settings -> Email request
(or in Jira settings -> System)
7. Klik on "Sign in with Microsoft"
Username is same as in step 2 (or 4.2)
Password is same as in step 4.1
When creating a shared mailbox in O365 tenant, a user ID related to this mailbox is also created. This is not commonly known but crucial for connecting a shared mailbox to an application.

Hello @Regulatory Arogreen
Based on your request I suggest trying this: Jira Plugin for Outlook (OTJ Jira for Outlook) add-in.
It is supported for shared mailboxes, allowing you to create issues, assign work, log work, and track progress directly from your shared inbox. This can greatly improve efficiency and collaboration for teams that rely on shared mailboxes for their work.
I hope this will be helpful!

@Souad azoury , it appears you may be associated with the recommended addon app and while the app is not part of Atlassian's marketplace it is important to maintain transparency when making recommendations in the Community. This includes adding vendor name to your user name and divulging your affiliation in your posts. You can find guidelines here - Community rules of engagement

Hello @Jack Brickey
Thank you for pointing out the importance of transparency in the Community. Your feedback helps me improve and contribute to the Community more transparently and constructively.
I apologize for the confusion in my earlier message, kindly note that Jira Plugin for Outlook (OTJ Jira for Outlook) is a part of Atlassian's marketplace:
Thank you again for your understanding and feedback.
