Migrating from Jira On Demand to our own hosted version

We are currently trialling Jira ON_Demand and would like to purchasse the download option and host ourselves - largely due to the avilability of different plug-ins. IS this possible and what are teh steps that are required?

It is surely possible. You can raise a support case with Atlassian to get the backup of the OnDemand instance and then use it in setting up the downloaded version.
