We are a not for profit org and stuck on an old version of JIRA 8.4.4. we have a free license owing to being non-profit.
we have successfully upgraded from 8.4.4 - 8.4.x(STEP1) - 9.x.x(STEP2) - 10.3.3(STEP3). This is the path of migrations we have used (upgrading mysql from 9 to 12 1o 15 and jdk from 8 to 15). All good so far. In each step, we exported JIRA data and imported it after an upgrade (pretty standard thing to do)
However, we assumed apps installed and their data would be exported for each upgrade. we did not install apps in STEP1 and STEP2. We installed app (jira-board) in STEP3 only to discover no past data is available.
so, how do i resolve this?
Hello @Kiran Chandrashekar !
Can you drop here link to app (jira-board) you mentioned and list versions used? Why you exported JIRA data and imported it after an upgrade ?

RE: export JIRA data and import, First I upgrade from 8.4.4 to 8.4.20. I export data in 8.4.20 to xml. Next I upgrade from 8.4.20 to 9.x.x. Then I import the 8.4.20.xml. Bring everything up and do the export again. repeat the same on 10.3.3. This is how I understood migration process is - a series of steps where data migration needs to happen
